I recently started to have tutoring sessions from Nico and he has helped me significantly with my confidence in math. I have had many math struggles for the last 4 years in high school and found that I never understood what was going on in class properly. Due to this, I thought I would never be able to learn or know math concepts properly. Nico is so knowledgeable and explains every math topic with great detail. He ensures that I understand everything as we go and asks me questions to confirm my understanding. Whenever I am not grasping a concept well, he makes sure to spend the extra time with me so that I feel secure with my understanding. His teaching style works very well with me because I do need extra long explanations and more time to be able to comprehend math, and he always provides me with the clarifications that I need. Overall, he has helped me boost my math confidence and makes me feel like I am truly capable of learning very advanced topics.

I can't thank Maslin Academy, Mel, and Taylor enough for turning my academic journey around. At the beginning of the school year, I failed science and struggled with math. It was so discouraging, and I felt like I was a failure. When I started working with Mel for science, everything changed. She started off every session asking me on a scale of 1-10 how much mental energy I had. She really took her time not only helping me academically, but mentally as well. Her explanations were clear, and she took the time to make sure I understood each concept before moving on, and sometimes that took a while but I appreciate her patience with me. I not only started to grasp difficult scientific principles but also found myself enjoying the subject. Now it’s the end of the semester, I have improved my grades from failing to passing, and I even began to see science as a subject I would like to take again next year (something I swore would never happen). Math on the other hand, was another nightmare subject for me, and that's where Taylor stepped in. She was patient and supportive, breaking down every math problem into manageable steps. Before even focusing on what I was currently learning in school, Taylor re-taught me grade 9 math concepts I needed in order to get through the semester. They created this crazy semester-long plan for me, organizing both grade 9 and 10 subjects so I would be able to stay in math class and not have to take it over the summer. My grades began to improve steadily, and I went from a starting average of 30% to a final grade of 76%. I know that next year I’ll be even better at math now that I’m mostly caught up in the subjects. Thanks to Mel and Taylor's dedication, I'm no longer afraid of science and math. They didn't just help me understand the material, they inspired me to believe in myself and my abilities. I'm incredibly grateful to Maslin Academy for matching me with such amazing tutors who genuinely cared about my success. I couldn't have done it without them in a million years. When I started my IB program, I thought math was gonna be super scary. I never really understood math, it was all just numbers everywhere and I just didn't really get it. But then I met Saeid from Maslin Academy. He's awesome! Seriously, he made math way less scary. Saeid didn't rush things. He took his time explaining stuff like trigonometry and algebra in a way that actually made sense to me. He used real-life examples which helped a lot too. Whenever I got stuck, he was patient and broke things down until I understood it and became a pro. Since I started with Saeid, math has gotten way better. My grades have gone up, and I feel way more confident in class. Now, I don't freak out when there's a math test. I know I can figure it out with Saeid's tips on how to figure it out logically.
